Singapore Airlines Makes Frequency Adjustments For Summer 2012

Singapore Airlines has unveiled adjustments to flight frequencies on selected routes to meet forecasted demand for air travel in 2012. Routes between Singapore and parts of Australia, India, Maldives and South Korea will be served with more flights each week, while select markets will see flight reductions.

 

More Regional Flights to Australia

Effective 2 July 2012, the airline’s Singapore – Adelaide route will be increased from 7 to 10 flights per week. Flight SQ 277 will take off from Changi International Airport at 0730 hrs to land at Adelaide International Airport at 1550 hrs every Monday, Thursday and Saturday. The return flight, SQ 276, departs Adelaide at 1705 hrs to arrive back in Singapore at 2300 hrs.

 

The Singapore – Brisbane route will be served 21 times per week from 25 March 2012. Flight SQ 255 will also be flown on Tuesdays and Thursdays with a 2-class Airbus A330-300, departing Singapore at 0010 hrs to arrive in Brisbane at 0950 hrs. On the return leg, flight SQ 256 takes off from Australia at 0910 hrs to land back in Singapore at 1520 hrs.

 

Singapore Airlines will also raise frequencies on the Singapore - Perth route to 21 flights each week during the same period. Under the revised schedule, flight SQ 225 will depart Changi International Airport at 0100 hrs daily to arrive at Perth International Airport at 0610 hrs. From Perth, flight SQ 224 takes off at 0720 hrs for a 1245 hrs landing back in Singapore.

 

19 Times Weekly Singapore – Mumbai, Twice Daily Singapore – Male

With growing trade links between Singapore and India, Mumbai receives 2 additional flights each week operated by the 2-class Boeing 777-200ER. Flight SQ 422 will now operate on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, departing at 0230 hrs and arriving in India at 0535 hrs. The return flight, SQ 421, takes off from Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport at 0730 hrs to land back at Changi International Airport at 1525 hrs.

 

The Singapore – Male route continues to see strong leisure demand, with the current 10 times weekly service increasing to 14 times weekly. Flight SQ 462 will operate daily, departing Singapore at 0945 hrs and arriving in Male at 1110 hrs. The return leg, SQ 461, takes off from Male International Airport at 1500 hrs for a 2210 hrs arrival into Changi International Airport.

 

Additional Flight for Singapore – Seoul (Incheon)

Singapore Airlines will add a fourth daily flight on the popular Singapore – Seoul (Incheon) route. Flight SQ 600 will depart Changi International Airport at 0800 hrs, arriving in South Korea at 1535 hrs. The Airbus A330-300 jet turns around to operate flight SQ 605, taking off from Incheon International Airport at 1640 hrs to land back in Singapore at 2155 hrs.

 

Singapore – Abu Dhabi – Jeddah Reduced to 3 Times Weekly

Previously operating daily, flight SQ 456 will be reduced to 3 times weekly from 25 March 2012. Departing Singapore at 1245 hrs on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, the flight arrives in Abu Dhabi at 1625 hrs before continuing to Jeddah at 1725 hrs, where it lands at King Abdul Aziz International Airport at 1940 hrs. The return flight, SQ 455, takes off at 2015 hrs from Jeddah to arrive at Abu Dhabi International Airport at 0005 hrs the next day before continuing to Singapore at 0110 hrs for a 1300 hrs arrival.

 

5 Times Weekly Singapore – Moscow (Domodedovo) - Houston, 6 Times Weekly Singapore – Munich – Manchester  

Flight SQ 062 on the Singapore – Moscow (Domodedovo) – Houston route takes off from Changi International Airport at 0235 hrs on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, arriving at Domodedovo International Airport at 0945 hrs before continuing to Houston’s George Bush Intercontinental Airport at 1115 hrs, where it lands at 1415 hrs. The return flight, SQ 061, departs Houston at 1640 hrs and arrives in Moscow at 1405 hrs the next day, before taking off again at 1525 hrs to arrive back in Singapore at 0600 hrs 2 days later.

 

On the Singapore – Munich – Manchester route, flight SQ 328 will be reduced from daily to 6 times weekly, with the service not operating on Wednesdays. Operated by a 3-class Boeing 777-300ER, the flight departs Singapore at 2305 hrs, arriving in Munich at 0535 hrs the next morning before departing an hour later to arrive in Manchester at 0750 hrs. The return flight, SQ 327, takes off from Manchester at 0910 hrs to land at Munich at 1215 hrs, taking off again at 1325 hrs for a 0715 hrs arrival back in Singapore the next day.

 

Singapore – Taipei Reduced to 14 Weekly

Singapore Airlines will reduce frequencies on the Singapore – Taipei route from 18 times weekly to double daily service. The airline will discontinue the redeye SQ 880/881 flight, maintaining the morning SQ 876/877 and afternoon SQ 878/879 service daily.
