Eurostar Begins Annual Avignon Summer Service

High-speed rail operator Eurostar began its weekly direct service from London St. Pancras International to Avignon, in the heart of the Provence region of Southern France last Saturday. This is the eighth successive year that Eurostar is operating the seasonal service.

From 11 July 2009 to 5 September 2009, trains will run the outbound leg which departs St Pancras International at 0719 hrs via Ashford International (0755 hrs) to arrive in Avignon Centre at 1412 hrs.

The inbound leg, which will run from 18 July 2009 until 12 September 2009, departs Avignon Centre at 1624 hrs, stopping at Ashford International (2033 hrs), before arriving in St. Pancras International at 2110 hrs.

Operating direct from the UK into Avignon Centre, which is a city station distinct from Avignon TGV station, travellers are just minutes away from the city’s attractions. The city and over 60 other French destinations are also available year-round to passengers by combining a Eurostar journey with a French TGV service at Paris or Lille.
