Kempinski Unveils Second Egyptian Property

Luxury hotel operator Kempinski has expanded its portfolio in Egypt with the opening of its newest property in the country. The 191-room Kempinski Nile Hotel Garden City Cairo is located in the heart of the city overlooking the banks of the River Nile. Renowned French architect Pierre-Yves Rochon has blended contemporary European luxury with attributes paying homage to Egypt’s ancient history, incorporating neutral colours and motifs to create a refined yet comfortable atmosphere.

Each room and suite offers views over the historical quarter of Garden City or the legendary River Nile from the private balcony and is furnished with a King-sized or twin beds, marble bathroom, LCD television, complimentary high-speed internet access, workdesk, minibar and coffee-/tea-making facilities. Discerning guests can choose to stay in one of the 54 luxury suites, including the top-of-the-range Imperial Suite located on the ninth floor of the building, where they will enjoy all the standard amenities and services, as well as access to the exclusive Embassy Club.

The hotel offers a wide selection of restaurants and bars, including The Blue Restaurant & Grill where there is no pre-defined menu and all dishes are made-to-order. At Osmanly, classic Ottoman and Turkish flavours await guests while the signature Floor 10 inspires with its artistic French creations as well as the smooth jazz tunes from its adjacent Jazz Bar. The traditional aroma of Lebanese shisha awaits at Shishawy, while The Roof is an ideal location to relax as the sun sets over a refreshing cocktail or freshly-squeezed juices. For the ultimate indulgence, Kempinski Nile Hotel Garden City Cairo presents guests with the Chocolate Lounge where some of the world’s best chocolates are paired with gourmet coffee blends.

Business travellers will find 3 private meeting rooms suited for intimate events and supported by a 24-hour, full-service Business Centre. For recreation, there is a spa and health club that features a gymnasium, steam room, sauna and jacuzzi, as well as a swimming pool which offers a respite against the Cairo sun. The hotel’s concierge team can also arrange for a variety of activities in and around Cairo.

The Kempinski Nile Hotel Garden City Cairo joins the Kempinski Hotel Soma Bay on the Red Sea coast in the resort destination of Hurghada as the brand’s second property in Egypt. In 2011 and 2012, Kempinski is also slated to add 2 other hotels in Africa to its portfolio, the Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City in Accra and Kempinski Hotel Royal Palace in Agadir.
