Celebrity Cruises Announces Australia, New Zealand Return

Celebrity Cruises has confirmed it will return to Australian and New Zealand waters in 2011 with the announcement of a new series of sailings Down Under onboard the 1,814-guest Celebrity Century. Following a 2-year hiatus from the region, the line will offer 10 distinct itineraries visiting 36 ports in Australia, French Polynesia, Indonesia, Mexico, New Zealand and the USA. Amongst the ports that Celebrity Cruises will make its debut are Adelaide, Albany, Brisbane, Broome, Bunbury, Cairns, Darwin, Geraldton and Perth.

Beginning with a trio of Hawaii voyages, the ship will depart on a 18-night Pacific Jewels cruise from Honolulu on 11 November 2011, visiting the French Polynesian islands enroute to Australia. She will then sail a series of 12- and 13-night New Zealand cruises between Sydney and Auckland, including a special festive departure on Christmas Eve.

Guests will also have the opportunity to experience an unique 36-night circumnavigation of Australia and New Zealand by combining a duo of 18-night cruises. The first takes guests around the southern coast of Australia, featuring an overnight stay in Sydney and transiting Milford Sound, Doubtful Sound and Dusty Sound in New Zealand’s Fiordland National Park. The second voyage will cruise Australia’s northern coast and include a visit to the idyllic island of Bali, Indonesia.

Cruisers will be able to enjoy the world-class amenities onboard the Celebrity Century, which was refitted in 2006 adding 314 new verandahs, the elegant Murano restaurant and the Martini ice bar. To complement the cruises, Celebrity Cruises has also specially created a series of cruisetours and excursions designed to allow guests a deeper exploration of Australia and New Zealand.
