Royal Caribbean International Announces Epicurean Discovery Cruises

Royal Caribbean International has announced its 3,634-guest Freedom of the Seas will host 12 specialty gourmet voyages from September 2010. Available exclusively to guests in suite accomodations or higher, each 7-night Epicurean Discovery package will be hosted by a different celebrity chef and will feature special events throughout the week devoted to cuisine and dining as the ship sails the Caribbean.

 

Food lovers will be able to participate in a private dining experience with the hosting celebrity chef in one of the ship’s specialty restaurants, a VIP Behind-the-Scenes tour of the galley, a special wine tasting event to sample different vintages and pick up cooking tips through an experiential lecture and Q&A session with the celebrity chef and Freedom of the Seas’ Executive Chef. They will also take home with them a special kit autographed by the hosting celebrity chef with photos, recipes and menus, as well as a commemorative Epicurean Discovery apron and Chef’s hat.

 

Royal Caribbean has already confirmed 9 award-winning chefs who will join the ship on its week-long sailings from Port Canaveral, Florida.

Freedom of the Seas will call at Charlotte Amalie, Phillipsburg and its private resort Coco Cay on the Eastern Caribbean cruises, while the Western Caribbean voyages will visit Ocho Rios, George Town, Cozumel and Labadee. Onboard, guests will enjoy signature amenities including her luxurious accomodation, the Freedom DaySpa and Fitness Center, as well as world-class entertainment ranging from the FlowRider surf-simulator and H2O Zone interactive water park to Broadway production shows and ice shows.
