Emirates A380 Coming To Hong Kong From October 2010

Dubai-based Emirates has announced Hong Kong as the latest destination in its global network to receive Airbus A380 service. Beginning 1 October 2010, the airline will deploy its double-decker jets on one of its 2 daily flights between Dubai and Hong Kong, making the city Emirates’ 11th A380 destination and fourth in Asia after Bangkok, Beijing and Seoul.

The Emirates A380 will operate flights EK 384/385, departing Dubai at 0315 hrs and arriving in Hong Kong at 1740 hrs on the outbound leg, while the return flight takes off from Hong Kong International Airport at 2225 hrs, landing back at Dubai International Airport at 0430 hrs the next morning. Both flights will be operated via Bangkok.

Passengers will be able to enjoy the aircraft’s onboard product, including flat-bed massage-equipped private suites in First Class, flat-bed seats in Business Class, a spacious 33-inch seat pitch in Economy Class and the award-winning ICE inflight entertainment system featuring over 1,200 channels of on-demand content. Premium passengers will also have access to the onboard lounge, while the 2 signature shower spas are available exclusively to First Class passengers.

Emirates is the world’s largest operator of the A380, with 12 aircraft in service and a further 78 on order. The airline will also introduce the jet on its Dubai-Manchester route from 1 September 2010 and will resume A380 flights to New York (John F. Kennedy) from 31 October 2010. Emirates becomes the second operator to regularly serve Hong Kong with the A380, after Singapore Airlines which flies the jet daily to the destination since July 2009.
