Millennium & Copthorne Expands Into Oman

Millennium & Copthorne has expanded into Oman with the opening of a new resort overlooking the Gulf of Oman. Created with a blend of Asian and Arabic themes, the Millennium Resort Mussanah is a 45-minute drive from Muscat International Airport and offers panoramic views of the crystal clear waters and the Hajar Mountains in the distance.

Designed to ensure a relaxing and luxurious stay, the 234 guestrooms and 74 serviced residences are furnished with modern amenities including luxury bedding, spacious bathrooms, LCD televisions, high-speed internet access, media hubs, in-room safe, minibar and coffee-/tea-making facilities. Private balconies allow guests to take in the coastal surroundings whilst enjoying the warm breeze from the gulf.

Millennium Resort Mussanah offers 4 different food & beverage outlets with outdoor terraces facing the private 54-berth marina. Mydan serves a wide selection of international buffets and live cooking stations, complemented by the Moroccan, Middle Eastern and Asian cuisine from the themed a-la-carte restaurant, Al Bahar. The Naseem Lounge in the main lobby offers hot and cold snacks with an array of coffees and teas, while The Deck is a modern and relaxed lounge bar presenting cocktails and light bites.

Conference and event planners have over 2,000 square meters of meeting space at their disposal, including the Mussanah Ballroom that can accommodate up to 450 guests. Each venue is equipped with state-of-the-art audio-visual equipment and supported by the resort’s business center. In September 2011, guests will also be able to enjoy an array of recreational facilities including a gymnasium, spa, swimming pools, tennis courts and a rock-climbing wall, in addition to the beach and watersports activities from the marina.

The Millennium Resort Mussanah is the ninth property in the Middle East for Millennium & Copthorne, joining sister hotels in Abu Dhabi, Doha, Dubai and Kuwait. The group has unveiled ambitious plans for the region, with 24 hotels being developed in various locations. For more information, visit
