Raffles Opens Seychelles Resort

Raffles Hotels & Resorts has expanded its portfolio with the opening of a new resort on the picturesque island of Praslin in the Seychelles. Situated 40 kilometers from the capital Mahe, the 86-villa Raffles Praslin Seychelles is a 15-minute airplane ride from the international airport and offers a sanctuary for residents to experience intimate residential charm coupled with Seychellois hospitality.

The villas are built on gentle slopes and are amongst the biggest in the Seychelles with vistas of the landscape or azure waters. Designed in a contemporary style, each villa has its own plunge pool and an expansive pavilion with daybeds, a dining table and barbecue grill (for Villa Suites) allowing residents to remain close to nature. The luxurious furnishings include King-sized down feather beds and duvets, separate bathroom and toilet facilities with natural lighting and outdoor rainforest shower, state-of-the-art entertainment system with plasma television, DVD player and MP3 connectivity, in-room safe, resident’s bar stocked with wine and champagne, as well as a Nespresso coffee machine.

Raffles Praslin Seychelles offers an array of restaurants and lounges for residents. The Losean Restaurant & Delicatessen serves contemporary Mediterranean cuisine with influences from the Indian Ocean, as well as homemade jams, pralines, macaroons and snacks, while the poolside Curieuse Restaurant & Pool Bar offers top-quality seafood in an island-chic atmosphere. In the evenings, residents can enjoy a relaxing time at the resort’s 2 lounges, Takamaka Terrace Lounge and the Danzil Lounge Bar, over rare whiskies, rum and cognacs accompanied by fine Cuban cigars or flavoursome shishas.

At the heart of the resort’s recreation offerings is the luxurious Raffles Spa, located steps from the stunning coastline of Anse Takamaka. Featuring 13 treatment pavilions showcasing the spectacular view of the ocean, white sandy beaches and granite boulders, guests are promised an all-encompassing renewal and rejuvenation of the mind and body. Adjacent to the spa is a tranquil garden for pre- and post-treatment relaxation, as well as the world-class gymnasium and private yoga/pilates classes in the airy movement pavilion. Residents can also stay in touch with friends via the modern day technology available at The Libreri, or simply spend time browsing the large collection of reading or multimedia materials while younger guests are occupied by the educational and entertaining activities at The Sugar Palm Club.

Raffles Praslin Seychelles joins the award-winning collection of Raffles Hotels & Resorts in Beijing, Dubai, Mecca, Paris, Phnom Penh, Siem Reap, Singapore and Tianjin. The brand is set to further expand with properties under development in China, Indonesia, Maldives and the Philippines. For more information, visit www.raffles.com.
