Waldorf Astoria London Syon Park Opens Today

Hilton Worldwide expands the portfolio of its Waldorf Astoria brand in the UK today with the opening of the much-awaited London Syon Park, situated at the edge of the 200-acre Syon House estate (which has served as the country home of the Duke of Northumberland for over 400 years). Inspired by its surroundings and the heritage of its setting, guests will be enchanted by the stunning butterfly house in the hotel lobby, which brings contemporary luxury to the urban countryside.

The 137 guestrooms and suites follow the style found in Syon House, where classical room elements, such as elaborate glass shard chandeliers hanging from ornate mouldings, blend impeccably with modern amenities. Each accommodation features luxury bedding, marble and limestone bathroom with illuminated rainforest showers, 42-inch LCD television with the latest in-room entertainment system powered by Apple, high-speed internet access, with the majority having a private balcony looking out to lush landscaped gardens and reflecting pools.

Under the helm of Executive Chef Lee Streeton, dining at London Syon Park embraces both the regal surroundings of the hotel and the legacy of the original Waldorf Astoria in New York. The Capability, the main restaurant, offers classic British cuisine prepared with ingredients grown naturally in the grounds of Syon Park and the hotel’s own orchard and herb garden, while The Terrace continues the 400-year tradition of afternoon tea. Brownies, with its sundae bar and array of hot and cold drinks, will be especially popular with younger guests while the adults retreat to the Peacock Alley, the hotel’s martini bar that honours the legacy of Syon Park’s historic Ice House, or The Deck rooftop lounge.

The hotel is an ideal meeting venue for guests desiring gracious surroundings and state-of-the-art conference facilities, centered by The Grand Syon Ballroom which is capable of accommodating up to 450 guests. 5-meter high ceilings with Murano chandeliers, a private entrance and floor-to-ceiling windows that bring the English countryside indoors set the stage for celebratory moments from wedding parties to fashion shows and grand banquets to charity balls. The Clubhouse provides an entire wing for fireside prefunctions and private gatherings, with a games room and upper level for dining.

For recreation, Kallima, the spa at London Syon Park, offers intimate surroundings and rejuvenating treatments at its VIP private treatment rooms, hydrotherapy and vichy areas using premium spa products from Terrake, Leighton Denny, VOYA and Anne Semonin. Other facilities include a steam room, sauna, whirlpool spa, swimming pool and a fully-equipped TechnoGym facility with personal trainers available to assist guests in their workout.

London Syon Park is Waldorf Astoria’s second hotel in the UK, joining sister hotel The Bentley London. Hilton Worldwide is rapidly growing the portfolio of the heritage brand, with new openings planned in Beijing, Berlin, Jerusalem, Montreal and Panama City.
