Ritz-Carlton Hong Kong Opens, Claims World’s Highest Hotel Title

The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company has opened the doors to its latest flagship property, The Ritz-Carlton Hong Kong, marking the brand’s return to the city after 3 years. Occupying the 102nd to 118th floors of the International Commerce Centre (ICC) in Kowloon West, the hotel succeeds the title of World’s Highest Hotel from the Park Hyatt Shanghai and enjoys a prime location with easy access to the airport, business and leisure addresses.

The 312 guestrooms and suites, ranging from the 50-square meter Deluxe rooms to the 365-square meter Ritz-Carlton Suite, offer unrivaled city and harbour views with the finest furnishings and amenities. Each guestroom and suite features luxury bedding with 400 threadcount linen, a marble bathroom with separate bathtub and shower, 42-inch flatscreen television, Blu-ray DVD player, iPod docking station, high-speed internet access, spacious workdesk, voicemail telephone, in-room safe, minibar and Nespresso coffee machine. In addition to the standard amenities, guests staying in the Club guestrooms and Suites also enjoy complimentary access to the Club Lounge on the 116th floor.

The hotel’s 6 dining venues have been created by famous names in restaurant design such as Japan’s Spin Design Studio and Wonderwall, promising guests gourmet dining in stylish environments. Heading the offerings is Ozone, proudly positioned on the top floor making it the world’s highest bar. Here, guests can indulge in signature cocktails, Asian tapas and Japanese specialties to the beats of the resident DJ and stunning panoramas of Victoria Harbour. Tin Lung Heen serves authentic Cantonese cuisine paired with a premium selection of teas, while Tosca offers Southern Italian cuisine in a dramatically stylish environment. The Lounge & Bar is an ideal all-day dining venue, where afternoon tea is accompanied by the live band performance, with the boutique-style Pastry Gems offering delicatessan items for dine-in or take-out. Chocolate lovers will also delight in the extensive menu available at The Chocolate Library.

Business travellers and meeting planners to Hong Kong will be able to utilize the 1,300 square meters of flexible meeting space, including one of the largest ballrooms in the Special Administrative Region at 930 square meters. Each venue is equipped with state-of-the-art audio-visual and communications equipment and supported by the hotel’s full-service business center. For recreation, guests can head to The Ritz-Carlton Spa by ESPA on the 116th floor, featuring 9 deluxe treatment rooms with floor-to-ceiling windows, a fitness center and an indoor infinity pool on the 118th floor with a LED screen on the ceiling capable of displaying images and videos.
