Jumeirah Opens First Hotel In China

Dubai-based hotel operator Jumeirah has made its entry into China with the opening of its first property in the country. Situated in the heart of Pudong district opposite the Shanghai New International Expo Centre and part of the landmark Himalayas Centre arts and cultural hub, the Jumeirah Himalayas Hotel Shanghai features interior design from KCA International whose portfolio includes the iconic Burj al Arab.

 

The 401 guestrooms and suites are decorated in a contemporary Chinese style, featuring custom crafted darkwood furnishings and Chinese artwork alongside modern amenities including luxury bedding, semi-open marble bathroom, 42-inch LCD television, complimentary high-speed internet access, replica oriental scholar’s workdesk with fully-integrated connectivity panel, in-room safe, minibar and premium Chinese tea set. The hotel also offers Executive Residences providing the convenience and indulgence of a luxury apartment, with the 80-square meter space including a fully-equipped living area, kitchen and a grand master bedroom.

 

Jumeirah Himalayas Hotel Shanghai’s 4 restaurants and bars provide guests and locals with an array of new dining options. The all-day dining Arte Cafe and Lounge serves bistro favorites, including signature Shanghainese, Southeast Asian and Mediterranean big-bowl noodles, amidst the unique atmosphere of the 16-meter high lobby.
