St. Regis Enters Thailand With Bangkok Property

Starwood’s luxury St. Regis brand debuts in Thailand today with the opening of the new 227-room St. Regis Bangkok. Occupying the 12th to 24th floors of a 47-storey mixed use tower on Rajadamri Road, the highly-anticipated hotel designed by Brennan Beer Gorman Architects (who oversaw the renovation of the St. Regis New York) is conveniently located near major business addresses and the Thai capital’s famed shopping districts.

Redefining luxury with panoramic views of the Bangkok skyline and nearby Lumphini Park, each of the exquisitely styled and lavishly appointed guestrooms and suites are furnished with the brand’s signature bed with 300-threadcount sheets, spacious marble bathroom with Remede bath amenities, flatscreen LCD television with DVD player and cable programming, high-speed internet access, voicemail telephone, workdesk, in-room safe and minibar. Guests will also enjoy the signature St. Regis Butler Service, a treasured hallmark of the brand for over 100 years, available throughout their stay to ensure every need is met.

The St. Regis Bangkok offers a selection fine dining outlets that are bound to appeal to guests and locals. Viu is an international grill with sweeping views of the skyline, while JoJo and Zuma offer exquisite Italian and fusion Japanese cuisine respectively. Afternoons are best spent at The Drawing Room over afternoon tea, before heading over to The St. Regis Bar for an aperitif or a Siam Mary, the hotel’s take on the ubiquitous Bloody Mary, and wine aficionados will delight in the extensive collection of vintages at Decanter.

Business travellers and meeting planners have 8 flexible venues, including the 515-square meter Astor Ballroom, at their disposal. Each facility is equipped with premier IT and audio-visual technology, with support from the full-service business center. For recreation, guests can unwind at Southeast Asia’s first Elemis Spa, workout in the fitness center or escape the tropical heat in the hotel’s outdoor swimming pool.

St. Regis Bangkok joins a growing portfolio for the brand in Asia-Pacific, with hotels and resorts in Bali, Beijing, Bora Bora, Lhasa, Osaka, Shanghai and Singapore. The brand is set to further expand in the region with the St. Regis Shenzhen, St. Regis Sanya Yalong Bay and the St. Regis Tianjin due to open by the end of 2011.
