InterContinental Hotels Group Opens Hotel Indigo Glasgow

InterContinental Hotels Group has opened the Hotel Indigo Glasgow, the brand’s third hotel in the UK and its first in Scotland. Located in the heart of Glasgow’s city centre near major attractions and main transport links, the 94-room hotel has been constructed to reflect the heritage of the 19th century Victorian building it is housed in while featuring contemporary interior design.

Each of the guestrooms is furnished with luxury bedding, bathroom with walk-in rainforest shower and Aveda amenities, 42-inch LCD television, radio alarm clock with iPod docking station, complimentary high-speed internet access, direct-dial telephone, workdesk with desk-level power outlet, in-room safe and minibar. For guests seeking greater comfort and space, the 34-square meter Suite features all the amenities of the guestrooms while also incorporating a generous living space.

Hotel Indigo Glasgow’s stylish restaurant and bar, the Limelight Bar & Grill, serves bistro-style dishes prepared with locally-sourced produce in a casual and relaxed setting. Guests and diners can also enjoy fine wine, beers and cocktails against the backdrop of commissioned art featuring famous Glaswegians on the walls.

The hotel provides business services including copying and facsimile for business travellers. For recreation, the compact onsite health & fitness center is equipped with equipment for a hearty workout, while the concierge team can arrange for sightseeing trips and experiences.

Hotel Indigo Glasgow joins 2 other sister properties in London, the 64-room Hotel Indigo London – Paddington and the 48-room Hotel Indigo London – Tower Hill. The brand’s expansion in the UK is set to continue with the development of hotels in Birmingham, Liverpool and Newcastle, while it also grows internationally with properties in Canada, China, Costa Rica, Germany, Taiwan and the USA.
