Air China Plans Flights To Athens

Beijing-based Air China has announced plans for flights connecting the Chinese capital to Athens via Munich. Beginning 15 May 2011, the airline will operate twice weekly flights with a 3-class Airbus A330-200 jet, with the new link supporting the rising demand for air travel between China and Greece by Chinese travellers.

Flight CA 961 will depart Beijing at 0040 hrs every Wednesday and Saturday, arriving in Munich at 0530 hrs before continuing at 0655 hrs to Athens, where it arrives at 1030 hrs. The return flight, CA 962, takes off from Athens International Airport at 1130 hrs, stopping in Munich from 1255 hrs to 1415 hrs and landing back at Beijing Capital International Airport at 0610 hrs the next morning. Air China has timed the flights to connect with services provided by its Star Alliance partners Lufthansa and Aegean Airlines, as well as its own domestic services.

Athens becomes Air China’s 12th European destination, joining Chita, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt, London, Madrid, Milan, Moscow, Munich, Paris, Rome and Stockholm.
