Corinthia Hotel London Opens In Time For Royal Wedding

CHI Hotels & Resorts opened the Corinthia Hotel London yesterday in the heart of the British capital on Whitehall Place. Housed in a meticulously restored Victorian building dating back to the late 19th century, the 294-room hotel is minutes from iconic landmarks such as 10 Downing Street, Covent Garden, Trafalgar Square and Westminster.

Offering elaborate decor and among the most extravagantly sized in London, each guestroom and suite is lavishly furnished to cater to the needs of the modern traveller, with state-of-the-art amenities including luxury bedding, spacious marble bathroom with underfloor heating, Loewe LCD television, high-speed internet access, IDD telephone, workdesk, refrigerated private bar and Nespresso coffee machine. There are also 7 signature suites named after and designed in the style of great figures in British history, including the 142-square meter Sir Winston Churchill Suite, 220-square meter Lady Hamilton Suite and the expansive 470-square meter Royal Suite.

Corinthia Hotel London’s 4 restaurants and bars are set to become some of the city’s most sought after dining venues. The Northall is a sophisticated all-day dining restaurant showcasing the best of British cuisine prepared with seasonal produce from around the British Isles, while Italian chef patron Massimo Riccioli lends his name to the Massimo Restaurant and Oyster Bar serving fresh Mediterranean seafood and delightful homemade pastas. The maple-lined courtyard and Baccarat chandelier illuminating the Lobby Lounge exude a timeless elegance for meetings or gatherings over afternoon tea from the certified tea sommelier, with guests retreating to the contemporary Bassoon bar, where the highly-skilled mixologists concoct classic and bespoke cocktails to delight the senses.

At 218 square meters, the grand Victorian Ballroom and its adjacent Courtroom offer flexible event space for business travellers and meeting planners, while smaller events are catered for by the suite of syndicate rooms combining elegant settings with state-of-the-art technology and support from the business center. Leisure travellers can look forward to the facilities and treatments at the 3,300-square meter ESPA Life “next-generation spa”, while legendary colourist and hairdresser Daniel Galvin OBE opens his second London salon within the hotel.

Corinthia Hotel London is the eighth property in Malta-based CHI Hotels & Resorts’ portfolio, joining sister hotels in Budapest, Khartoum, Lisbon, Malta, Prague and Tripoli. The group is also developing 2 properties in Benghazi and Taormina on Sicily, Italy.
