Starwood Returns To Costa Rica With Westin Resort & Spa Playa Conchal

Hospitality giant Starwood Hotels & Resorts has marked its return to Costa Rica after 20 years with the opening of its first all-inclusive resort, The Westin Resort & Spa Playa Conchal. Rebranded from the former Paradisus Playa Conchal Resort, the property is easily accessible from Guanacaste and Liberia airports, enjoying a location near the beach, beautiful national parks and nature reserves. 


To meet the brand’s standards and elements, the resort will renovate its 406 guestrooms and suites, as well as all public spaces, in phases through December 2011. Guests will be spoilt for choice when it comes to dining at The Westin Resort & Spa Playa Conchal, with 15 restaurants and bars cater to a variety of tastes. International favorites can be found at the Caracola, Cauri, Mitra and Playa restaurants, while Agave Azul (Mexican), Faisanela (Italian) and Spices (Asian) offers specialties from their respective cuisines. Light meals and snacks are available at Hoyo 19th and Spirula, while the Disco Bar, Lobby Bar, Nautilus BarTapas Bar, Theater Bar and Triton Bar ensure that guests enjoy a constant flow of cocktails and beverages.


Ideally suited for weddings, social events and business conferences, the resort’s 5 meeting venues include the 198-square meter Santa Rosa Ballroom, which can accommodate up to 170 guests and is equipped with the latest audio-visual and communications equipment. Leisure guests can relax with an array of activities on- and off-site ranging from watersports, a tropical swimming pool, tennis, mountain biking, the WestinWORKOUT fitness center and the championship Robert Trent Jones II-designed golf course that earned the resort its accolade as one of the Top 25 Foreign Golf Resorts in 2010 as selected by Conde Nast Traveler Magazine.
