United Continental To Add Daily Hong Kong – Tokyo (Narita) Link

United Continental Holdings, the parent entity of the merged United Airlines and Continental Airlines, has announced it will begin daily flights between Hong Kong and Tokyo (Narita) from 31 October 2011. The new service offers more travel options to the USA for Asian passengers via the airline’s hub in Tokyo, while also strengthening its flying network in the region.

Operated by Continental Airlines’ Boeing 737-800 aircraft configured with 14 BusinessFirst and 141 Economy Class seats, the daily flight CO 008 departs Hong Kong International Airport at 1030 hrs, arriving at Narita International Airport at 1540 hrs. The return flight, CO 009, takes off from Tokyo at 1705 hrs to land back in Hong Kong at 2130 hrs.

United Continental Holdings will be relying on traffic fed through its Tokyo hub from across the Pacific Ocean on the route. The airline faces fierce competition from several other airlines, including fellow Star Alliance partner All Nippon Airways and Oneworld members Cathay Pacific and Japan Airlines, who both offer multiple daily flights providing greater flexibility as well as superior product offerings on widebody aircraft.
