Hawaiian Airlines Starts Osaka Flights

Hawaiian Airlines yesterday launched flights between Honolulu and the Japanese city of Osaka, as it seeks to continue its Asian expansion. The new daily service adds approximately 100,000 seats annually to Hawaii from Japan’s important Kansai region.

Flight HA 449 departs Honolulu International Airport at 1420 hrs, arriving at Kansai International Airport at 1800 hrs the next day. The return flight, HA 450, takes off from Osaka at 2130 hrs to land back in Honolulu at 1050 hrs the same day after crossing the International Date Line.

Hawaiian Airlines will initially deploy its 264-seat Boeing 767-300ER aircraft on the route. In the coming months, the airline will switch to the new 294-seat Airbus A330-200 jet, featuring a state-of-the-art, on-demand entertainment system in every seat.

Honolulu-based Hawaiian Airlines is relying heavily on Asia for its international growth. The airline recently launched services to Seoul’s Incheon International Airport and is a major carrier on the Honolulu – Tokyo (Haneda) route.
