Best Western Opens Largest Property In Russia

Best Western International marked a milestone this week with the opening of the new Best Western Vega Hotel & Convention Centre in Moscow. Located in Izmaylovo Village, one of Moscow’s most picturesque districts and 15 minutes by metro from major attractions including the Kremlin, Red Square, Izmailovo Souvenir Market and the Aqua Circus, the 970-room property debuts the brand in Russia and is also the largest hotel within its global portfolio.

Originally built in anticipation of the 1980 Summer Olympics, the Best Western Vega Hotel & Convention Centre underwent an extensive remodeling in 2007. Each of the guestrooms now feature stylish furnishings, including comfortable beds, a spacious bathroom, flatscreen television with cable programming, high-speed internet access, direct-dial telephone, workdesk, in-room safe, minibar and coffee-/tea-making facilities.

3 restaurants offer regional and international cuisines to guests. The all-day dining Vega Restaurant’s buffets promise to be a draw for guests and locals alike, while Cafe Vega serves up freshly brewed coffee paired to French pastries and delectable Russian pies. For a taste of the local palate, Restaurant Stariy Dvorik offers Russian favorites washed down with a shot of vodka, followed by a nightcap at the Lobby Bar.

15 separate meeting spaces welcome more than 190,000 visitors to the hotel’s convention centre, supported by a full-service business centre. Leisure visitors can utilize the extensive fitness facilities comprising a Finnish sauna, spa and Turkish baths.

Best Western International has made forays into the Russian and Central Asian markets recently, with the Best Western Vega Hotel & Convention Centre following the opening of Chisinau’s Best Western Plus Flowers Hotel and the Best Western Sevastopol Hotel in the Ukraine.
