Tauck Adds New Riverboat To Fleet

Conneticut-based tour operator Tauck has added a fourth new riverboat to its growing fleet, in a ceremony attended by 3 generations of Tauck family members, dignitaries, special guests and company executives. The ms Treasures is the company’s fourth river cruiser in 5 years and was named by godmother Robin Tauck earlier this week in Cologne.

Nearly identical in design to her sister ships (ms Swiss Emerald, ms Swiss Sapphire and ms Swiss Jewel), the 118-guest vessel features an intimate, club-like atmosphere. The 59 cabins and suites are exquisitely furnished with new decor and bedding, marble bathrooms with L’Occitane amenities, plasma televisions, radios, in-room safe and minibar. 85 percent of the accommodations have floor-to-ceiling windows and French balconies for enhanced appreciation of the passing scenery as the ship sails along Europe’s major rivers.

Onboard, The Restaurant offers both an elegant venue for a fine dining experience, while the Lido Bar provides an alternative for bistro dining and a unique 180-degree glass wall that opens for indoor/outdoor cocktail hours. In the bow, the spacious Panorama Lounge is a favorite gathering spot with its bar, dance floor and entertainment. Guests can also enjoy the ship’s outdoor jacuzzi, gymnasium, massage studio and boutique throughout their cruise.

ms Treasures will spend her debut season cruising 8- to 15-day itineraries on the Danube, Rhine and Main rivers. Recently named “World’s Best River Cruise Line” by Travel + Leisure magazine, Tauck is also expanding its European river cruise offering by introducing itineraries on France’s Rhone River this August.
