Conrad Expands In Thailand With New Resort

Hilton Worldwide has expanded the presence of its Conrad brand in Thailand with the opening of a second property. The new Conrad Koh Samui is located on Aow Thai Beach 40 minutes from the airport and is one of the few west-facing luxury resorts on the island, boasting unobstructed ocean views.

80 private villas are sprawled across 25 acres of lush hillside and decorated using a combination of contemporary furnishings and traditional Thai elements to create a luxurious and comfortable retreat for discerning travellers. Private plunge pools and sundecks take in the glorious tropical sunshine and cool ocean breeze, while guests luxuriate in the King-sized bed with 400-threadcount sheets and spa amenity-appointed marble bathroom. Each villa is also equipped with state-of-the-art audio-visual technology including a LCD television, DVD player, iPod docking station and high-speed internet access, while a fully-stocked minibar and personal espresso machine offer the convenience of home.

An excellent range of dining venues set amidst incredible surroundings await guests at the resort. Guests can begin the day with breakfast at Zest, the stylish all-day dining restaurant with both indoor and outdoor areas, followed by a casual lunch at the poolside Azure Bar & Grill, with a dinner of the finest Thai and pan-Asian cuisine at Jahn, the culinary jewel of the Conrad Koh Samui. Rounding out the day is cocktails at the Glow Lounge, perched high above the resort against a rock wall. Alternatively, wine lovers will enjoy the intimate atmosphere of The Cellar, featuring over 3,000 vintages from the resort’s private collection.

Guests are spoilt for choice with a series of recreational and wellness facilities. Leading the offerings is The Spa, situated in the corner of the resort with a 300-degree panorama of the ocean and providing a unique pampering and relaxation experience. The contemporary Fitness Centre lets guests maintain their exercise regime with the latest equipment and a sun-drenched outdoor wooden yoga deck, while the surrounding islands and dive sites can be explored via the on-site diving and sailing centre.

Conrad Koh Samui doubles the brand’s portfolio in Thailand, joining the Conrad Bangkok. Hilton Worldwide is embarking on a global expansion for Conrad Hotels & Resorts, with 12 other hotels under development and slated to open by 2014.
