Japanese hotel operator JAL Hotels has opened its latest property in China under the Nikko Hotels International brand. Located within a new urban complex in the southeastern district of Xiamen, the new Hotel Nikko Xiamen is a 2-minute walk from the city’s international exhibition and convention center, while enjoying convenient access to business and leisure addresses, Gaoqi International Airport and the railway station.

The 436 guestrooms and suites are comfortably appointed with amenities designed for the modern business traveller. Each features luxury bedding, a spacious marble bathroom, flatscreen television with satellite programming, high-speed internet access, direct-dial telephone, workstation with ergonomic chair, in-room safe, minibar and coffee-/tea-making facilities. Executive Class and Suite guests enjoy additional privileges including private check-in/out, welcome drink and complimentary food & beverage at the Executive Lounge.

Hotel Nikko Xiamen offers 4 restaurants and bars serving a wide selection of cuisines to guests. The all-day dining Cafe Serena promises to satisfy the palates with its buffet spreads and a la carte options prepared in the open kitchen, while breads, cakes and pastries are available for dine-in and takeaways at the Pastry Shop. A note to the hotel’s Japanese heritage, Benkay excites the gourmand with its freshly-prepared Japanese specialties. Rounding up the quartet is The Fountain, an ideal venue to relax or catch up over snacks and drinks accompanied by live music entertainment. The hotel is also set to add a fifth outlet to its dining offerings, a Chinese fine-dining restaurant serving local and regional favorites.

Targeted at business and MICE travellers, the hotel boasts an array of event and business facilities designed to ensure convenience and flexibility. 12 different meeting venues, including the 717-square meter Hongmei and 610-square meter Siming Halls, accommodate business meetings or social gatherings of any size and are equipped with the latest conferencing facilities, with support rendered by the full-service Business Center. For recreation, guests can enjoy a leisurely swim in the swimming pool, or work up a sweat in the state-of-the-art Fitness Center.

Hotel Nikko Xiamen joins 8 other properties currently operated by JAL Hotels across China in Beijing, Dalian, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Suzhou, Tianjin and Wuxi. The company is developing 2 more hotels in the country, Hotel Nikko Guangzhou and Hotel Nikko Suzhou, which are expected to open by 2013.
