Singapore Airlines Plans A380 Flights To Frankfurt, New York

Singapore Airlines has announced plans to deploy the Airbus A380 on it’s daily Singapore -Frankfurt – New York (John F. Kennedy) flight. From 15 January 2012, the double-deck superjumbo replaces the Boeing 747-400 currently operating the route, adding 25 percent more capacity and improved seating.

Passengers onboard flight SQ 26/25 will be able to enjoy the airline’s flagship onboard product, including the highly-acclaimed Singapore Airlines Suites and the latest version of KrisWorld. However, Singapore Airlines has not yet revealed if the aircraft operating the route will be configured in an all-Business Class upper deck layout, which will be used on flights to London (Heathrow) and Zurich from next month.

Frankfurt and New York becomes the ninth and tenth A380 destinations for the airline. The move follows deployment decisions by fellow A380 operators Lufthansa and Korean Air, with the former flying its jets to Singapore and the latter unveiling plans to serve Frankfurt from Seoul (Incheon) with its A380s from December 2011.
