Shangri-La Sydney Unveils Refurbished Guestrooms

The Shangri-La Sydney has unveiled its newly enhanced guestrooms and suites. Situated on levels 4 to 29 of the hotel, the upgraded accommodations mark the completion of an extensive 6-month, USD 19.8 million refurbishment programme that is set to strengthen its position as one of Sydney’s top luxury hotels.

Oriental blossoms inspire the design, where soft gold features are balanced with rich wood, chocolate and cream colours to create a soothing and comfortable environment for guests. This is complemented by a purpose-built window seating designed by leading interior designers Hassell allowing guests to take in the panoramic views.

The theme continues with a custom bedhead that integrates the traditional bedside tables, lighting and operation panels. Each guestroom and suite also receives a bedside iPod docking station and a media hub for connecting electronic devices to the LCD television. Sensor-controlled lighting and air-conditioning that automatically returns to its standard setting boost the hotel’s green credentials by helping to reduce energy consumption.

Rebranded from the former ANA Harbour Grand Hotel in July 2003, the Shangri-La Sydney occupies a prime location atop a hill overlooking both Darling Harbour and the city. The hotel offers some of Sydney’s finest dining, including the award-winning Blu Bar on 36, and conference facilities equipped to handle virtually every conceivable scenario.
