Hotel Bel-Air Reopens

After 24 months of extensive refurbishment and redesign, Los Angeles’ iconic Hotel Bel-Air has reopened its doors to guests. Internationally-renowned design teams Alexandra Champalimaud and the Rockwell Group were commissioned to oversee the property’s restoration, which conveys the glamour of the 1930s, 40s and 50s in a fresh and elegant manner whilst retaining the familiar Spanish colonial architecture.

103 luxurious guestrooms and suites, including new loft and hillside accommodations, feature sweeping canyon views, indoor and outdoor fireplaces, grand pianos and spacious decks. Each is furnished with luxurious King-sized beds with Fili D’Oro 310-threadcount Egyptian cotton linen, spacious bathroom accompanied by La Prairie bath amenities, Bang&Olufsen high-definition flatscreen television, high-speed internet access, an iPad that can be used to order room service and a workdesk with integrated media hub.

Celebrity chef Wolfgang Puck continues his association with the Dorchester Collection, helming the Hotel Bel-Air’s signature restaurant, Wolfgang Puck at Hotel Bel-Air. Modern Californian cuisine is served amidst the glamourous surrounds mirroring the golden age of Hollywood, where guests can lounge in comfortable booths overlooking the hotel’s famous Swan Lake. 3 cozy garden alcoves separated by bi-fold doors bring the outdoors in at The Bar & Lounge, which now features a sense of richness and depth from the central fireplace, grand piano, wood-paneled walls, herringbone design floors and an incredible leather woven bar. The new Lobby Lounge is a beautiful open space perfect for spending relaxing afternoons enjoying the fresh natural breeze flowing through the Spanish colonial arched windows overlooking the gardens.

Hotel Bel-Air’s privacy and exclusivity provides ideal surroundings for guests seeking an alternative to the noise and commotion of larger chain hotels. The array of indoor and outdoor venues, including the Garden Ballroom, Palm Room, as well as the elegant Front Lawn and Swan Lake, are perfectly suited for private meetings or intimate social functions. For wellness and beauty, the hotel has launched its new Hotel Bel-Air Spa by La Prairie, featuring 7 treatment rooms (including a couples retreat with private patio), mosaic steam and chic relaxation areas, while the adjacent Joseph Martin Hair & Beauty salon offers a selection of hair and beauty services. A new fitness studio equipped with Technogym equipment is accessible 24 hours a day and the beloved oval-shaped hotel swimming pool remains a focal point of the hotel.

The revitalized Hotel Bel-Air joins the portfolio of luxury properties under the Dorchester Collection. The company recently opened its latest property, 45 Park Lane, amidst the surrounds of London’s Hyde Park.
