Air Berlin To Fly To Los Angeles, Increase Frequency To New York

Air Berlin has announced plans to bolster its North American services. The German carrier will introduce a new nonstop link between Berlin and Los Angeles from 1 May 2012, as well as raise frequency on the Berlin – New York (JohnF. Kennedy) route.

 

3 Times Weekly Berlin – Los Angeles

Flight AB 7022 will depart Berlin at 1000 hrs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, arriving in Los Angeles at 1250 hrs. The aircraft turns around to operate the return flight, AB 7023, taking off from Los Angeles International Airport at 1445 hrs and landing back in the German capital at 0725 hrs the next day.

 

Air Berlin will operate a 2-class Airbus A330-200 aircraft on the route. The service will launch from Berlin Tegel Airport, before switching to the new Berlin Brandenburg Airport when it becomes operational in June 2012.

 

Daily Berlin – New York (John F. Kennedy)

To prepare for the airline’s impending integration into the Oneworld alliance and better connectivity with fellow member carrier American Airlines, Air Berlin’s existing 3 times weekly flights to New York will be increased to a daily service.

 

Flight AB 7248 will now depart Berlin daily at 1300 hrs, arriving in New York at 1545 hrs. The return flight, AB 7249, takes off from John F. Kennedy International Airport at 1730 hrs, landing back at Berlin Tegel Airport (Berlin Brandenburg Airport from June 2012) at 0725 hrs the next morning.
