Hyatt Opens New Properties In Asia, North America

Hyatt Hotels Corporation has announced the opening of 2 iconic properties in Asia and North America. The 28-storey Andaz Shanghai introduces the vibrant lifestyle brand to Asia, while the highly-anticipated Hyatt 48Lex becomes the latest addition to New York’s recent hotel boom.

 

Andaz Shanghai: Fashionable Sensitivity in the Heart of Xintiandi

Located in Xintiandi on the edge of the former French concession, the 307-room Andaz Shanghai is inspired by its dynamic and distinctive surroundings. The hotel’s design blends the warm grey stone cladding and low-rise podiums of the traditional shikumen houses with a powerful architectural form that embody the dynamism of modern Shanghai.

 

The guestrooms and suites range in size from 80 to 193 square meters, with views of Xintiandi or the Huai Hai Road shopping district. LED lighting on the ceiling allow guests to set the colour and mood of their accommodation, which is furnished with contemporary amenities. Andaz Shanghai’s restaurants and bars extend the vibrancy of the neighbourhood, with the all-day dining Hai Pai restaurant complex offering a range of Shanghainese/Chinese specialties along with Western favorites that can be enjoyed in the main indoor/outdoor terrace environments or private dining rooms. Multi-functional bar spaces, including an enormous slatted brushed-steel ovoid split over 2 floors, are set to become some of Shanghai’s most sought after nightspots. Hyatt 48Lex: Pied-a-Terre Accommodation in New York City

Located on Lexington Avenue and 48th Street, Hyatt 48Lex is Midtown Manhattan’s newest full-service hotel within walking distance from the city’s many iconic attractions, such as Grand Central Station, 5th Avenue, Chrysler Building, Empire State Building and Central Park. Renowned architect Nobutaka Ashihara incorporated a mirror glass facade to reflect the surrounding buildings and create a blending effect despite its design expression, with interiors by local design firm VLDG’s Paul Vega and Vennie Lau.
