Now Open: Fairmont Pacific Rim Vancouver

Fairmont Hotels and Resorts has opened the latest property in its native Canada. Located in the heart of Vancouver’s historic port and financial district, the new Fairmont Pacific Rim Vancouver fronts one of the most celebrated streetscapes in the city with unobstructed views of the North Shore Mountains, Stanley Park and Coal Harbour.

A sculpted exterior from architect James Cheng frames the hotel’s vintage neighbour – the Marine Building. 2 sides of the hotel facade is wrapped in artwork from internationally-acclaimed artist Liam Gillick, becoming the latest installation to the city’s Public Art Collection, while the “rice wall” on the other side of the building glistens in the sun and teases with a rainforest image that comes into view from a distance.

Inside, Asian influences feature heavily with spaces defined by the use of wood and stone, while the ceilings are blanketed by lighting sculptures such as the 55-meter long origami artwork from local master Joseph Wu. A handcrafted, made-to-measure Fazioli piano takes centrestage in the lobby, with its inlay designed to reflect the origami sculpture floating above.

The Fairmont Pacific Rim Vancouver’s 377 spacious guestrooms and suites are elegantly appointed with luxury amenities, including Stearns & Foster beds with Mascioni fine linens, spa-like marble bathrooms, 42-inch LCD televisions with surround sound and iPod docking station, high-speed internet access, bedside touchscreen controls and Nespresso coffee makers. Over 70 percent of the accommodations enjoy panoramic harbour and mountain views, with the suites offering private patios with outdoor fireplaces and soaker tubs.

An array of dining options await guests and locals with authentic cuisine from around the Pacific Rim prepared using locally-sourced and responsibly harvested ingredients. Oru Pan Asian Bistro features an open kitchen and Vancouver’s largest sake cellar, while Giovane is an elegant Italian cafe cum bakery and deli, serving a selection of sandwiches, thin crust pizzas, pastries and scrumptious cakes. The Lobby Lounge & Terrace is a perfect meeting place with its floor-to-ceiling fireplace and cozy leather chairs complementing the classic cocktails and drinks on the menu.

Business travellers and meeting planners can utilize the hotel’s 3 ballrooms, 2 boardrooms, 3 meeting rooms and a state-of-the-art multimedia theatre to host corporate meetings or private functions. In addition, the hotel is also directly connected to the newly-expanded west wing of the Vancouver Convention Centre. After a day of meetings, guests can unwind at Fairmont’s signature Willow Stream Spa, relax at the innovative rooftop swimming pool, workout in the fully-equipped fitness centre or simply head into town in style with the luxury BMW hotel car service (exclusive to Fairmont President’s Club Members).

There are now 4 Fairmont hotels in Vancouver, including the Fairmont Vancouver, Fairmont Waterfront and the Fairmont Vancouver Airport. Across Canada, the brand offers an additional 18 hotels while continuing to expand overseas in Asia and the Middle East.
