Now Open: Angsana Hangzhou

Singapore-based resort and spa operator Banyan Tree has expanded its presence in Hangzhou with the opening of the new Angsana Hangzhou at the Xixi National Wetland Park. Surrounded by lush greenery and tranquil waters, the resort is a short drive from the famed West Lake (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) and impeccably designed to reflect the region’s oriental charm.

59 tastefully-decorated guestrooms and suites promise privacy, exclusivity and a touch of luxury. Infused with ornate Chinese wood carvings or pictures of old Hangzhou, each offers a balcony decorated with stylish Chinese balustrades and modern amenities including a plush King-sized or twin beds, spacious bathroom with separate bathtub and rainforest shower, flatscreen television, iPod docking station, high-speed internet access, sitting area, in-room safe, minibar and coffee-/tea-making facilities.

Angsana Hangzhou’s variety of wine & dine experiences are set to tantalize the tastebuds, offering a range of local and international specialties. The Pavilions’ Jiangnan decor serves as the perfect backdrop to sample Asian delicacies, while the Rice Bar serves a selection of freshly-prepared rice-based favourites. Lunar Bar offers complimentary all-day tea and coffee to in-house residents, before transforming into an intimate lounge presenting a selection of Shaoxing wines and cocktails. Rounding up the quartet is Breeze, the poolside bar ideal for a refreshing after-swim drink.

The resort is capable of hosting small- to mid-sized groups at its 3 meeting rooms, with a library on the second floor serving as a quiet space for guests to catch up on reading, conduct casual meetings or relax with an iPad or Wii games. A rooftop swimming pool with hot tub is available to guests, while the renowned Banyan Tree Spa at sister-resort Banyan Tree Hangzhou nearby takes care of their wellness needs.

Angsana Hangzhou joins the Angsana Fuxian Lake as the brand’s second property in China. Globally, the brand operates close to 10 hotels and resorts, over 40 spas and 40 retail galleries.
