World’s First Ibis Budget Opens In Tangier

Accor has kickstarted the process of restructuring its economy brands with the opening of the first Ibis Budget property in Tangier, Morocco. Located in the tax-free zone on the fringe of the city center, the new Ibis Budget Tanger Hotel can be easily accessed from the airport and other parts of Morocco via the national highway.

Designed for the cost-conscious traveller, 121 guestrooms are available in the new “Cocoon & Design” style featuring clean lines and functional finishes. Each is comfortably-appointed with double and bunk beds, ensuite bathroom with LED shower head that changes colour according to the water temperature, flatscreen television, high-speed internet access and media connectivity hub for the convenience of guests.

The hotel does not have a restaurant, but offers a self-service area with a buffet breakfast selection each morning. A pet friendly policy allows guests to stay with 1 pet in each guestroom for an additional nightly charge, while guests driving from another location enjoy private outdoor parking onsite.

Accor will eventually rebrand nearly 518 hotels under the Etap Hotel and Formule1 (in Australia, Brazil, Indonesia and Japan) flags into Ibis Budget properties. The brand will welcome 4 new hotels in the coming months – the Ibis Budget Grenoble Sud Seyssins in France, Switzerland’s Ibis Budget Leysin, the Ibis Budget Bonn Sud Konigswinter in Germany and the Ibis Budget Porto Gala in Portugal.
