InterContinental Returns To Moscow

InterContinental Hotels Group is gearing up to officially open Russia’s first InterContinental property after a decade away. Built on the site of the Soviet-era Hotel Minsk, the new InterContinental Moscow Tverskaya returns the company’s flagship brand to the Russian capital and combines contemporary design with local elements for a distinctively Muscovite residential feel.

The 203 guestrooms and suites offer great views of the city and present a sense of understated luxury for the modern traveller. Neutral colours welcome guests into a relaxing space where luxury bedding, a spacious bathroom with premium amenities, minibar and coffee-/tea-making facilities await, while a 42-inch flatscreen television, iPod docking station, high-speed internet access, direct-dial telephones and workdesk help guests remain entertained and connected. 3 Penthouse Suites on the top floor of the hotel cater to guests requiring more space and boast private terraces from which stunning panoramas can be enjoyed.

InterContinental Moscow Tverskaya’s food & beverage options add to the gastronomic offerings in the heart of the city’s entertainment district. The all-day dining restaurant, Chekhonte, serves a modern interpretation of traditional Russian cuisine, recounting local family traditions and original recipes. Complementing it is the P-Square Bar and Lounge (named after nearby Pushkin Square), an inviting space with a great selection of coffees and teas during the day and expertly-crafted cocktails in the evening.

Meeting planners seeking a venue for events have 6 meeting rooms at their disposal, including the Rodchenko Ballroom, which can accommodate up to 320 guests and is supported by a full-service business center and state-of-the-art technology. For recreation, the InterContinental Spa offers a haven of calm amidst the bustle of downtown Moscow with its menu of body and facial treatments, after which guests can enjoy a workout at the 24-hour health and fitness center.

InterContinental Hotels Group now have 7 properties operating in Moscow, with the InterContinental Moscow Tverskaya joining the Crowne Plaza Moscow World Trade Centre, Holiday Inn Moscow Lesnaya, Holiday Inn Moscow Simonovsky, Holiday Inn Moscow Sokolniki, Holiday Inn Moscow Suschevsky and the Holiday Inn Moscow Vinogradovo. The company has set its sights on growing in Russia and has plans to introduce the Hotel Indigo brand to Moscow and St. Petersburg.
