Virgin America Begins Flights To Puerto Vallarta

Award-winning, California-based airline Virgin America has launched flights from its base in San Francisco to Puerto Vallarta, with a gate-side fiesta featuring margaritas and mariachi band for passengers on the inaugural flight. Named “Friendliest City” by Conde Nast Traveler attracting over 3 million visitors annually, the city is one of Mexico’s hottest destinations and will be served 5 times a week (4 times a week from 05 January 2012).

Flight VX 270 departs San Francisco at 0930 hrs every Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, arriving at Puerto Vallarta at 1510 hrs. The return flight, VX 273, takes off from the Mexican city at 1610 hrs for a 1815 hrs landing back at San Francisco International Airport. Virgin America will operate a 3-class Airbus A320 aircraft, featuring custom-designed leather seating, an interactive inflight entertainment system and in-seat power supply, on the route.

Puerto Vallarta becomes the 15th destination in the airline’s expanding network and offers easy access to nearby Riviera Nayarit, recently named the newest celebrity hotspot by Harper’s Bazaar magazine. Virgin America continues to see strong demand for travel to Mexico, where it also flies to Cancun and Los Cabos.
