Angsana Expands Into Mauritius

Angsana Hotels & Resorts, the sister brand of Singapore-based Banyan Tree, has opened its first resort in Mauritius. Located in the secluded area of Turtle Bay on the island’s northwestern coast, the new Angsana Balaclava is a 15-minute drive from Port Louis and offers an ideal hideaway for travellers seeking privacy and relaxation.

50 suites and villas are designed to be a home away from home, with picture-perfect gardens adorned with tropical plants and palms. Most of the accommodations feature private plunge pools, while modern amenities, including luxury bedding, a separate living area, open-plan bathroom, flatscreen television, high-speed internet access, in-room safe, minibar and coffee-/tea-making facilities, are available to meet the exacting needs of discerning guests.

An array of dining options present local and international flavours amidst the lush tropical surroundings. The resort’s signature restaurant, Oryza, serves exotic Mauritian Asian fusion cuisine, while the Passion Grill offers succulent meats and fresh local seafood grilled to perfection. At Sylea, guests can unwind over the large selection of cocktails, spirits, coffees and teas paired with the chef’s daily offering of homemade snacks and cakes.

The brand’s signature Angsana Spa offers Asian and Ayurvedic spa treatments by trained therapists in 9 treatment rooms, while a restorative vitality pool and yoga pavilion provide holistic wellness options for guests. 3 overlapping swimming pools, fitness center, beauty salon and kid’s club complement the white sandy beach and watersports activities available, with the library and its array of reading materials ideally suited for quiet afternoons.

Angsana Balaclava extends the brand’s footprint to 9 countries worldwide, where it is represented by managed resorts, spas and retail galleries. In 2012, Angsana is set to further grow in Asia with the opening of the Angsana Lang Co in Hue and the Angsana Tengchong in Yunnan, China.
