Starwood Opens New St. Regis In Shenzhen

Starwood Hotels & Resorts has welcomed the latest addition to its luxury St. Regis brand in China. Designed by famed architect Sir Terry Farrell, the new St. Regis Shenzhen opened earlier this week and occupies the top 28 floors of the city’s landmark Kingkey 100 building.

297 guestrooms and suites feature floor-to-ceiling windows offering panoramic views of the city, luxurious bedding with 300-threadcount Egyptian linen and marble bathrooms with top-quality amenities, workdesk and minibar catering to the needs of the modern traveller. In a first for Shenzhen, guests can connect and manage the in-room media including the flatscreen television, sound system, iPod docking station and high-speed internet access from the fully-customized iPad2 remote control, while enjoying the brand’s legendary butler service.

A wide array of dining establishments on the top floors of the hotel add to Shenzhen’s culinary collection. The all-day dining restaurant, Social, presents international cuisine while Elba’s authentic Mediterranean specialties are set to be a favorite with guests and locals. On the 96th floor, The Drawing Room and St. Regis Bar bring back the glamour of the early 20th century with the enduring “St. Regis Afternoon Tea” and classic cocktails including the “Yan Mary”, its take on the Bloody Mary first concocted at the King Cole Bar of the St. Regis New York. Decanter offers one of Shenzhen’s largest collections of wines with a private tasting room for intimate gatherings, while the Malt and Library stocks an extensive menu of single malt whiskeys served with fine Cuban cigars.

With 11 meeting rooms totaling 2,100 square meters of flexible space, the St. Regis Shenzhen can accommodate events ranging from private social gatherings to exquisite weddings and business conferences, supported by a full-service business center. A full suite of recreation facilities, including the 700-square meter Iridium Spa featuring a Vichy Shower suite, 28-meter indoor infinity swimming pool and fully-equipped exercise room, await to revitalize guests after a day of business.

Starwood Hotels & Resorts now operates 6 St. Regis properties in China, including the St. Regis Beijing, St. Regis Lhasa Resort, St. Regis Sanya Yalong Bay, St. Regis Shanghai and the St. Regis Tianjin. The brand’s expansion in the country is set to continue, with new hotels and resorts under development in Changsha, Chengdu, Lijiang, Nanjing and Zhuhai.
