Accor’s Sofitel Brand Makes Indian Debut

French hospitality giant Accor has introduced its luxury Sofitel brand to India with the opening of its first hotel in the country. Strategically located within the Bandra Kurla Complex, the 302-room Sofitel Mumbai BKC enjoys easy access to Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport and major business addresses in Mumbai.

Each guestroom and suite reflects the brand’s contemporary design using lush fabrics and hardwood flooring. Guests enjoy the brand’s signature MyBed concept with pillow menu, a marble bathroom with amenities from L’Occitane and Hermes, flatscreen television with cable programming, high-speed internet access, designer workdesk, in-room safe, minibar and coffee-/tea-making facilities.

Dining options include the all-day dining Pondicherry Cafe serving buffet and a la carte dishes inspired by Indo-French tastes, as well as Jyran, a tandoor dining & lounge presenting regional favorites. Tuskers’ delectable international cuisine and vegetarian options are complemented by an innovative cocktail menu, while the Artisan Chocolaterie Patisserie completes the offerings with fabulous house-crafted chocolates. 2 bars, Le Bar Diamantaire and L’Oh Pool Bar, celebrate India with stunning panoramas, cutting-edge design and the country’s first wine tower.

As Mumbai’s newest luxury business hotel, Sofitel Mumbai BKC is well-equipped to handle events of all sizes ranging from private meetings to large-scale conferences. 9 flexible meeting salons featuring state-of-the-art audio-visual technology are available to business travellers and meeting planners. When work is completed, guests can relax over rejuvenating treatments at the hotel’s So Spa, enjoy a leisurely swim in the outdoor swimming pool or workout at the So Fit gymnasium.

Sofitel Mumbai BKC sets the groundwork for the brand’s push into India. Accor is currently developing 2 other properties under the umbrella of the luxury brand in Mumbai, the Sofitel Mumbai Mulund and the Sofitel So Mumbai, both of which are expected to open in 2014.
