Kempinski Opens Sanya Resort

China’s fast-growing southern leisure destination Sanya gains a new luxury resort today with the opening of the new Kempinski Hotel Haitang Bay Sanya. Situated 25 minutes from the city’s international airport, the 628-key resort is a stunning Chinese hideaway with European flair. 5 sections (hotel complex, private villas, conference center and leisure facilities) are inter-linked by a fleet of gondolas plying a 1,200-meter long seawater river.

Ranging from the Deluxe Garden View Room to the opulent Presidential Villa, each accommodation at the resort has been elegantly designed with exquisite Chinese-style furniture to allow guests to indulge in comfort. Luxurious King-sized or twin beds ensure a comfortable night’s sleep, while the spacious bathroom features a rainforest shower or separate bathtub overlooking the lush tropical garden scenery. A flatscreen television, complimentary high-speed internet access and direct-dial telephone provide in-room entertainment and communications, while the minibar and coffee-/tea-making facilities are available for convenience.

Executive Chef Nikolaos Lekkas and his culinary team present mouthwatering culinary creations at the Kempinski Hotel Haitang Bay Sanya’s 6 restaurants and bars. Cafe Berlin offer international buffet spreads, while the Rotunda Cafe is ideally suited for informal meals and light snacks. The elegant Yuen Court chinese restaurant combines Cantonese and Hainanese specialties with modern design, incorporating the resort’s seawater river. World-renowned Paulaner Brauhaus brings its freshly home-brewed beer and Bavarian dishes to Sanya, accompanied by live music performances from the band. Spectacular sunsets can be enjoyed over cocktails at the laidback El Faro Beach Bar, while the Rendezvous Lobby Lounge offers a selection of chocolates to complete the evening.

A dedicated conference center accommodates events of various sizes, with 11 stylish and comfortable venues for private meetings, including the majestic, 1,500-square meter Grand Ballroom Vienna for conferences and banquets. Each venue is equipped with state-of-the-art technology and supported by a dedicated business center. For recreation, the resort’s spa center sited in a historical Shanghai-style house provides natural, custom healing treatments, while outdoor swimming pools, a fitness center, 2 tennis courts, a games room, exclusive shopping and a 9-hole practice golf course complete the offering. Art aficionados will appreciate the prized works on display at the resort’s own art center.

Kempinski Hotel Haitang Bay Sanya is the German hotel group’s 12th property in China, where it currently enjoys a presence in Beijing, Chengdu, Dalian, Guiyang, Huizhou, Shenyang, Shenzhen, Suzhou, Wuxi, Xian and Yinchuan. 2 new hotels, situated in Qingdao and Xiamen, are now under development.
