China Gains First Park Hyatt Resort

Hyatt Hotels Corporation has opened the first Park Hyatt-branded resort in China. Located on the banks of Dong Qian Lake in the eastern coastal city of Ningbo, the new Park Hyatt Ningbo Resort & Spa is set amongst tea plantations, ancient Buddhist temples, working fishing villages and the region’s famed natural landscape. Understated sophistication defines the beautiful resort, which has been created in the style of a traditional Chinese water village to blend discreetly into the surrounding vista.

236 contemporary guestrooms, suites and villas await guests, featuring floor-to-ceiling windows granting beautiful panoramas and top-quality finishes. Each accommodation boasts luxurious bedding, open-plan bathroom with separate bathtub and rainforest shower, 42-inch flatscreen television with DVD player, iPod docking station, high-speed internet access, cordless telephone with voicemail function, workdesk, in-room safe, minibar and coffee-/tea-making facilities.

The Park Hyatt Ningbo Resort & Spa’s 4 restaurants and bars provide an array of cuisines for guests and locals alike. Inspired by the resort’s location, Seafood House strives to offer the best seafood in the region and is expected to become the region’s premier dining destination, while the residential-style Dining Room serves authentic Chinese and Western comfort food to views of the outdoor pool pavilion. Celebrating the tradition of tea-drinking in a former ancestral family mansion within the premises is Tea House, which transforms itself into an intimate social venue serving signature cocktails, premium wines and champagnes every evening. Alternatively, guests can head to the Living Room to catch up with friends over aperitifs.

The resort’s 1,312 square meters of event space, including The Ballroom which can accommodate up to 400 guests as well as the intimate The Salon and The Pavilion, cater for meetings and social gatherings of all sizes. For recreation, the Yue Hu Spa offers a wide selection of western and oriental treatments adopting the principles of ancient Chinese wellness philosophy, while the Fitness Pavilion houses a heated indoor pool, 26-meter outdoor infinity pool, fully-equipped gymnasium, reflexology facilities, steam rooms, saunas and whirlpool baths.

Park Hyatt Ningbo Resort & Spa joins 2 other sister properties in Beijing and Shanghai within China. Worldwide, the brand operates 27 hotels and resorts in many of the world’s premier destinations, with each property custom-designed to combine sophistication with distinctive regional character.
