Joie de Vivre Hospitality Opens The Saguaro Palm Springs

San Francisco-based Joie de Vivre Hospitality has opened its latest property in California. The Saguaro Palm Springs, a colourful 249-room property centrally located at the corner of Sunrise and East Palm Canyon Drive, follows the successful debut of The Saguaro Scottsdale in Arizona.

Designed to reflect the vibrant spirit of the southwest, renowned architects Peter Stamberg and Paul Aferiat have infused the 3-storey structure, originally constructed in 1977, with hues from the indigenous Mojave desert flowers. Guests are greeted by a transformed lobby, while new lighting and carpeting in the public areas are complemented by extensive landscaping and garden elements.

The guestrooms and suites are furnished with amenities including comfortable bedding, spacious bathrooms, 42-inch flatscreen televisions with iPod docking stations, high-speed internet access, workstations and hand-crafted furniture imported from Mexico. Most incorporate a private balcony or patio, affording views of the resort’s swimming pool, Palm Springs and the dramatic San Jacinto Mountains.

James Beard-decorated Iron Chef Jose Garces oversees the food & beverage offerings at The Saguaro Palm Springs. Tinto is inspired by the culinary-renowned Basque region of northern Spain, presenting a modern approach to traditional “pintxos” served with a selection of the area’s premier wines. El Jefe celebrates the culture and cuisine of Mexico City, with a premium tequila bar and lounge seating accompanying Mexican small plates.

For recreation, the hotel offers The Saguaro Spa, a relaxing oasis with a menu of hydrating facials, massages and treatments using desert-inspired products. Guests can also enjoy a heated outdoor Olympic-sized swimming pool with cabanas and fire pit, a fitness center and 2 outdoor hot tubs.
