Swissotel Introduces New Global Fitness Programme

Swissotel Hotels & Resorts has joined a growing list of hotel companies placing an increased focus in wellness for travellers. Following the launch of its Purovel Spa & Sport brand, the company has unveiled its new Vitality fitness programme comprising a range of activities that guests can participate in while staying at any of its 28 properties worldwide.

Under the programme, guests can request for gymnasium equipment, including the Swiss ball, Aero Step, yoga mats, Thera Bands and Pilates rings, to be set up in their guestrooms. Special jogging maps detailing planned routes of various distances are available for guests who prefer to train outdoor, while each hotel will host a weekly activity ranging from guided walks to jogging tours. For guests who prefer to stay indoors, a series of chess contests, Scrabble tournaments, board games and backgammon evenings provide opportunities to relax and interact.

Swissotel will also revamp its dining offerings to offer a larger variety of healthy foods. Restaurant and in-room dining menus will have healthy and light dishes supplemented by fresh fruits, low-fat products and organically-grown coffee. For conferences and banquets, planners incorporate stimulating breaks with light refreshments to ensure maximum productivity.

Kicking off with a week-long campaign from 21 March 2012 at all of the chain’s properties, the Swissotel Vitality Programme will be launched via activities ranging from aerobics and Zumba in the lobby, to vertical marathons throughout each floor of its multi-storey hotels. Iconic properties include Swissotel The Bosphorus in Istanbul, Chicago’s Swissotel Chicago and the Swissotel The Stamford in Singapore.
