IHG Launches Hualuxe Hotels & Resorts

Following the launch of its fitness-focused EVEN Hotels brand last month, InterContinental Hotels Group today announces the debut of its second new brand, Hualuxe Hotels & Resorts. Translated directly into Chinese luxury, the upscale brand has been designed specifically for the Chinese traveller and aims to tap into the country’s growing demand for travel and consumer desire for an international hotel brand that demonstrates pride in Chinese customs.

 

Combining the best aspects of Chinese hospitality with the industry giant’s global scale and management expertise, Hualuxe’s brand features revolve around the service focus areas of “tradition”, “rejuvenation”, “status” and “familiar spaces”. Chinese culture will be reflected in the physical hotel design, with abundant natural elements and relaxing surroundings such as “lobby garden” areas and resort-inspired bathrooms. Authentic Chinese experiences, such as gourmet restaurants, late-night foodie bars and tea-houses, will feature in each location, while hosts will be employed to afford guests the recognition and respect expected by the Chinese traveller.

 

Hualuxe Hotels & Resorts will open initially in tier 1, 2 and 3 cities as well as resort locations in China before rolling out internationally to cater for the growing number of outbound Chinese travellers. More than 20 letters of intent have been signed by the group for the brand, with the first property expected to be open in late 2013 to early 2014.
