Now Open: Conrad New York

Hilton Worldwide has opened the new all-suite Conrad New York yesterday in the Big Apple’s vibrant Battery Park City neighbourhood. Leading architects Monica Ponce de Leon, Marianne McKenna and members of the renowned Kohn Pederson Fox Associates created the stunning glass tower, with interiors by designers Jill Greaves, Peter Remedios, Herve Descottes of L’Observatoire and landscape architect Ken Smith.

 

Rising above the Hudson River waterfront, guests are welcomed into a soaring 15-storey, sunlit atrium highlighted by a dramatic blue and purple Sol LeWitt painting (entitled “Loopy Doopy”) above the registration desk. Paying tribute to the strong art heritage of the city, 2,000 selections of contemporary art curated by the Public Art Fund and Elizabeth Gould Vales can be found throughout the hotel’s guestrooms and public spaces.

 

Conrad New York’s accommodations are designed with luxury and comfort for the modern, independent traveller in-mind. The oversized suites incorporate a sophisticated decor of light wood and frosted glass sliding panels, while work and rest areas are separated for convenience.
