Singapore Marriott Hotel Completes Refurbishment

Marriott International has relaunched the Singapore Marriott Hotel, following the completion of a USD 28 million refurbishment project. World-renowned design consultancy Hirsch Bedner Associates gave a new lease of life to the iconic hotel at the corner of Scotts Road and Orchard, using neutral colours and bold accent fabrics to create a classic yet contemporary decor.

The once-traditional lobby is now a welcoming, open-plan area serving as a prelude to the re-kitted accommodations, where 2 new room categories (Premier Deluxe and Studio) give guests greater choices. Each guestroom and suite now features new bedding, marble bathroom with separate shower and bathtub, with amenities including a 46-inch flatscreen television and the signature 1956 Eames desk chair complementing the workstation.

The all-day dining Marriott Cafe leads the changes to the hotel’s food & beverage offerings with more seats and a new show kitchen, where Executive Chef Kevin Thomson’s culinary team prepares international and local specialties. Joining the existing 4 venues is a new delicatessen, Java+, situated in the lobby and offering freshly-baked breads and pastries, accompanied by tapas, wine and gourmet coffees.

Singapore Marriott Hotel’s meeting rooms and recreational facilities, including the outdoor swimming pool area on the fifth floor as well as the state-of-the-art gymnasium, continue to meet the business and leisure requirements of guests. The Retreat spa is a haven from the bustling city and perfectly suited for unwinding after a day of meetings or shopping.
