Melia Hotels International Opens Dubai Hotel

Spanish hospitality group Melia Hotels International has opened its first property in the UAE. The 164-room Melia Dubai is located in the heart of the traditional Bur Dubai district within easy reach of Port Rashid and the international airport.

Renowned architect Marco Mangili fuses classic elegance with contemporary European design, using warm colours, plush fabrics and tastefully-selected furniture to create a soothing atmosphere. The decor continues in the spacious guestrooms and suites, which are furnished with amenities including luxury bedding, modern bathroom with separate rainforest shower and deep-soaking tub, interactive 42-inch flatscreen television, high-speed internet access, voicemail telephone, in-room safe, minibar and coffee-/tea-making facilities.

Dining is where Melia Dubai is poised to excel, with no less than 2 celebrity chefs headlining the offerings. Titanic by Marco Pierre White offers signature European dishes from British master chef Marco Pierre White, while India’s Sanjeev Kapoor opens his first restaurant in the emirates with Signaure by Sanjeev Kapoor. Not to be outdone is Executive Chef Fredric Kulczak at the all-day dining restaurant Azalya serving Spanish-inspired dishes reflecting the Melia brand’s heritage. 4 bars (Averroes, Estrellas, Quantum and Mansion) offer trendy cocktails and premium beverages, ideal for entertaining or socializing late into the night.

Business travellers and meeting planners have a 200-square meter ballroom and 2 smaller boardrooms at their disposal for small- to mid-scale events. Recreation options include the signature YHI Spa with the unique Gaffa Rufa Fish Therapy, rooftop swimming pool and a state-of-the-art health club.

Melia Dubai joins a growing number of properties under the group’s brands in Africa and Asia as it continues a foray beyond its native Europe. Melia Hotels International now 10 hotels and resorts operating in both continents.
