Addis Ababa, Ahmedabad To Join Etihad Network

The national airline of the UAE, Etihad Airways, has announced 2 new destinations due to join its network later this year. In November 2012, the Abu Dhabi-based carrier will launch services to Ahmedabad and Addis Ababa, using 2-class Airbus A320 aircraft.

 

Daily Abu Dhabi – Ahmedabad

From 1 November 2012, flight EY 216 will depart Abu Dhabi at 2245 hrs, arriving in Ahmedabad at 0300 hrs the next morning. The return flight, EY 215, takes off from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport at 0510 hrs for a 0705 hrs landing back at Abu Dhabi International Airport.

 

5 Times Weekly Abu Dhabi – Addis Ababa

Beginning 2 November 2012, Addis Ababa will be served on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays by flight EY 681, departing Abu Dhabi at 0945 hrs and arriving in the Ethiopian capital at 1230 hrs. On the return leg, flight EY 682 takes off from Bole International Airport at 1455 hrs to land back at Abu Dhabi International Airport at 1925 hrs.

 

Etihad will serve 9 destinations in the Indian Subcontinent and Africa with the addition of the 2 routes. The carrier is counting on increasing demand for travel to both areas to fuel its growth, with the Abu Dhabi hub central to this strategy.
