Norwegian Cruise Line Launches Private Cabanas On Great Stirrup Cay

Cruisers on Norwegian Cruise Line’s Caribbean itineraries can now enjoy greater luxuries on Great Stirrup Cay, its 250-acre private island in the Bahamas. Cabanas on the Cay, a collection of 10 exclusive cabanas with VIP service and amenities, can now be reserved by guests on a first-come-first-serve basis.

Located to the west of the island’s main beach, each cabana accommodates up to 6 guests and is fully-furnished with lounge chairs, tables, cooler, beach towels and a shower. Guests will enjoy priority tender service to the island, 6 complimentary bottles of water and a refreshing fruit basket on arrival.

Available for USD 249 per day, guests will also receive up to 6 all-day passes to the Hippo Waterslide worth USD 120, as well as a large float valued at USD 25 for use during their time on the island. A USD 50 food & beverage credit can be utilized on an exclusive menu consisting of charcuterie, seafood, sushi and fruit platters or on beverage packages exclusive to Cabana guests at the island’s BBQ service.

The first private island retreat in the cruise industry, Great Stirrup Cay is an unspoilt paradise of white sandy beaches, majestic coconut palms and calm, pristine waters offering a multitude of recreational options for guests. Recently enhanced with a USD 25 million investment, the island is called on year-round by Norwegian Sky on her 3- and 4-night cruises from Miami and by Norwegian Gem during her 7-day Bahamas & Florida itinerary from New York. Norwegian Jewel, Norwegian Pearl and the upcoming Norwegian Breakaway are also scheduled to visit Great Stirrup Cay in 2013.
