Four Points By Sheraton Grows In Asia-Pacific With Perth, Sandakan Hotels

Four Points by Sheraton, the mid-market brand from industry giant Starwood Hotels & Resorts, has expanded its presence in the Asia-Pacific region with 2 new additions in Sandakan and Perth to its portfolio.

Four Points by Sheraton Perth

18 months after exiting Perth, Starwood returns to the city with the Four Points by Sheraton Perth. Located on Wellington Street near the central business district and formerly known as the Citigate Perth, the 277-room property was renovated prior to being rebranded and welcoming guests under the umbrella of the fast-growing brand.

Uncomplicated and contemporary accommodations offer views of the upcoming Perth Arena and are furnished for a comfortable stay. Each guestroom and suite is smoke-free and features plush bedding, spacious bathroom with separate bathtub and shower, 37-inch LCD television with iPod docking station, high-speed internet access, direct-dial telephones, large workdesk with ergonomic chair, electronic safe, minibar and coffee-/tea-making facilities.

Dining options are provided by the all-day dining Encore restaurant, serving international cuisine in a relaxed atmosphere each day. The West End Bar located in the lobby is perfect for catch ups with friends in the afternoons over freshly-brewed coffee or kicking back in the evenings with a beer from Four Points by Sheraton’s popular “Best Brews” program.

The hotel’s 5 flexible meeting spaces offer natural light and state-of-the-art conferencing technology for up to 250 guests. Business travellers and meeting groups also enjoy support from the onsite business center, while a rooftop swimming pool and fitness center await after a day of business or sightseeing.

Four Points by Sheraton Perth is the brand’s third Australian hotel, joining sister properties Four Points by Sheraton Geelong and Four Points by Sheraton Sydney.

Four Points by Sheraton Sandakan

The first and only international hotel in Sandakan, the new Four Points by Sheraton Sandakan gives Starwood a foothold in the city, which is fast gaining popularity as a diving and ecotourism destination. Part of the award-winning Sandakan Harbour Square development, the hotel is located on the city’s prominent waterfront overlooking the Sulu Sea with many points of interest at its doorstep.

299 comfortable guestrooms and suites are furnished with the brand’s signature Four Comfort Bed and crisp 250-threadcount linen, functional bathrooms, 32-inch flatscreen televisions, complimentary high-speed internet access, workdesk, telephone, minibar and coffee-/tea-making facilities. Discerning guests will enjoy the comforts of the Presidential Suite, a well-appointed 1-bedroom unit featuring separate living and dining spaces, kitchenette and study.

Four Points by Sheraton Sandakan’s all-day dining restaurant, The Eatery, presents international and Malaysian favorites throughout the day, while Wrapped offers light bites and coffee on-the-run. The Lobby Lounge is set to become the place to see and be seen in the city, providing a relaxed atmosphere in which to enjoy cocktails and a selection of international beers.

Business travellers and meeting planners can take advantage of the hotel’s 9 function spaces (of which the largest is 620 square meters and can accommodate up to 600 guests), with support from the full-service business center. Hotel guests may also utilize the fully-equipped gymnasium and outdoor swimming pool on the 13th floor, with views of the harbour and city.

Four Points by Sheraton Sandakan follows sister hotels in Langkawi and Kuching as the brand’s third hotel in Malaysia. Starwood is currently developing another Four Points by Sheraton hotel in Kota Kinabalu, slated to open in 2016.
