India’s Spicejet Extends Reach Beyond South Asia
Indian low cost carrier Spicejet has extended its reach beyond its native South Asia. The Chennai-based airline has launched flights to Dubai, taking the opportunity to unveil plans for 6 new international destinations.
Daily Delhi – Dubai, Mumbai – Dubai Flights
To maximize aircraft utilization, the airline has opted for a Delhi – Dubai – Mumbai – Dubai – Delhi routing.
From Delhi, flight SG 011 departs daily at 1155 hrs, arriving in Dubai at 1345 hrs. The return flight, SG 012, takes off from Dubai International Airport at 2310 hrs for a 0405 hrs landing back at Indira Gandhi International Airport the next morning.
Configured with 189 Economy Class seats, the Boeing 737-800 jet will operate flight SG 014, departing Dubai at 1445 hrs to arrive in Mumbai at 1915 hrs. It then returns to the emirate at 2030 hrs as flight SG 013, landing back in Dubai at 2155 hrs.
Dubai joins Colombo and Kathmandu as Spicejet’s third international destination.
6 More International Destinations Planned
Spicejet is going ahead with its international expansion, looking to Asia and the Middle East for growth. The airline has revealed plans to serve Bangkok, Guangzhou, Hong Kong, Kabul, Male and Riyadh from major Indian gateways by year-end.
Headquartered in Chennai, the carrier currently operates a fleet of Boeing 737-800, 737-900ER and Bombardier Q400 aircraft to 35 domestic and 3 international destinations.
