Asiana Airlines Introduces New First Class Suite

South Korea’s Asiana Airlines upped the ante on premium class travel this week with the introduction of a new private suite product for its First Class passengers. The new OZ First Suite features sliding door panels previously found on Middle Eastern and top Asian carriers, affording greater privacy and comfort than the current generation seating.

Installed in a 1-2-1 configuration on its Boeing 777-200ER aircraft, the seat reclines into a 2.1-meter flatbed at the touch of the control unit on the armrest. An ottoman doubles as a buddy seat for private dining or work discussions.

Individual 32-inch LCD screens (amongst the biggest in the skies) deliver content from the inflight entertainment system. Each suite also offers ample storage spaces, a minibar, air ventilation system and a sophisticated mood lighting function are available to meet the needs of passengers.

The OZ First Suite is now in service on 3 Asiana Airlines’ routes. Passengers flying the Seoul (Incheon) – Chicago (O’hare), Seoul (Incheon) – Tokyo (Narita) and Seoul (Incheon) – Ho Chi Minh City services will be able to experience the product on selected flights. The airline plans to refit another aircraft with the OZ First Suites in the near future, with an eventual aim to have 8 refitted jets flying by 2013.
