Now Open: Four Seasons Guangzhou

Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts has opened its newest hotel in China. Occupying the top 30 floors of the Guangzhou International Finance Center, the new Four Seasons Guangzhou is the brand’s 88th property worldwide and is located next to the Zaha Hadid-designed Guangzhou Opera House.

Exiting the elevators at the 70th floor lobby, guests will be awestruck by a 3-meter red steel sculpture by Australian artist Matthew Harding that appears to float on a sea of watery glass, reflecting the ceiling window a further 30 floors above the atrium. Sleek modern interiors created by HBA/Hirsch Bedner and Associates are accentuated by a collection of contemporary artwork, including 9 sculptures by Yang Don Dong and paintings by South Korean artist Yun Hee Toh in the Executive Club Lounge.

344 guestrooms and suites are amongst the most spacious in Guangzhou and offer unobstructed views of the city and the Pearl River Delta. Ultra modern and lavishly appointed, each accommodation option features a custom-designed bed, marble bathroom with ample counter space, deep-soaking tub and separate walk-in shower. A LCD television with DVD player, iPod docking station, high-speed internet access and Playstation game consoles available on request provide ample entertainment for guests, while business travellers will appreciate the large workstation, conference call-capable telephones, fax and printer on-request.

Four Seasons Guangzhou’s 6 dining and entertainment venues present a variety of cuisines ranging from local Cantonese to Italian-inspired all-day dining at Cafe Mondo and sophisticated seafood dishes at Catch. The 8 private dining rooms at Yu Yue Heen serves up oriental specialties in an ambience that reflects the contemporary luxury of China, while Japanese restaurant Kumoi features an impressive natural stone sake bar. Over at The Atrium, guests can take in the breathtaking views over coffee, tea or light bites, or enjoy cocktails within the chic surrounds of the Tian Bar.

Over 3,500 square meters of first-class meeting space is available across 11 function rooms situated on the lower floors of the building and equipped with state-of-the-art audio-visual and conferencing technology. For recreation, the Hua Spa offers respite from the hectic pace of Guangzhou with its extensive water-based treatment area incorporating a Vichy shower, Rhassoul chamber, crystal steam room and laconium in the women’s area, while the men’s area features a herbal steam bath, ice fountain, as well as a Swedish and Finnish sauna. There is also a 25-meter lap pool and 24-hour fitness center equipped with cardiovascular and weight-training equipment.

Four Seasons Guangzhou brings the luxury brand’s portfolio in Greater China to 5 properties. Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts’ expansion in the country continues with the Four Seasons Pudong Shanghai and the Four Seasons Beijing, scheduled to open later this year.
