Chinese Debut For Anantara

Anantara Hotels, Resorts & Spas, the luxury brand of Thailand’s Minor Hotel Group, has opened its first property in China. Nestled between quiet mountains and sandy beaches on Hainan Island’s southern coast, the new Anantara Sanya Resort & Spa is situated 25 minutes from Phoenix International Airport and 15 minutes from the heart of the city.

Inspired by oriental and Thai culture, the resort’s 122 guestrooms, suites and villas are designed with an air of natural elegance intended to evoke serenity and luxury. Crisp linens and bedding, a terrazo bathtub and rainforest shower, LED television, iPod docking station, high-speed internet access, in-room safe and minibar offer modern conveniences, while the private balcony lets guests take in the magnificent sunrises over the South China Sea.

Showcasing the cuisine of its native Thailand, Anantara Sanya Resort & Spa’s signature restaurant Baan Rim Nam offers dishes from across the Southeast Asian country amidst panoramic views of the surrounding scenery. Shi Yuan presents an interactive dining experience featuring Oriental-inspired flavours using fresh local ingredients, while Ahei’s lush garden setting is complemented by a sophisticated, wide-ranging menu including Chinese teas to tapas. The swim-up bar, Flow, serves up refreshing cocktails and tasting plates to guests after a hearty swim.

Anantara’s renowned spa opens its newest outpost at the resort. Guests can indulge in the therapeutic benefits of pearl- and tea-infused treatments, which have rejuvenated Asia’s women for over 3,000 years. For a much quicker pace, there are a range of land- and water-based activities available to guests, including golfing at the Luhuitou Golf Club and bicycle tours of the local villages.

Heralding Anantara’s debut in China, the Anantara Sanya Resort & Spa will soon be joined by a sister property, the 103-room Anantara Xishuangbanna Resort & Spa in Yunnan province.
